چکیده

Abstract We present homogeneous abundance analysis of over 20 elements for 385 very metal-poor (VMP) stars based on the LAMOST survey and follow-up observations with Subaru Telescope. It is largest high-resolution VMP sample (including 363 new objects) studied by a single program, first attempt to accurately determine evolutionary stages such large Gaia parallaxes. The covers wide metallicity range from [Fe/H] ? ?1.7 down ? ?4.3, including 110 objects ? ?3.0. expanded coverage in status makes it possible define trends respectively giants turnoff stars. newly obtained data confirm most found previous studies, but also provide useful updates samples outliers. Li plateau seen main-sequence ?2.5 < our sample, whereas average clearly lower at metallicity. Mg, Si, Ca are overabundant respect Fe, showing decreasing trend increasing Comparisons chemical evolution models indicate that overabundance Ti, Sc, Co not well reproduced current theoretical predictions. Correlations between Sc ? -elements, while Zn shows detectable correlation only Ti other -elements. fraction carbon-enhanced ([C/Fe] > 0.7) 20%–30% depending treatment which C determined, much higher than (?8%). Twelve Mg-poor ([Mg/Fe] 0.0) have been identified ?3.8 through ?1.7. Eu-rich ([Eu/Fe] 1.0) discovered ?3.4 ?2.0, enlarging r -process-enhanced relatively high

Abundances in Very Metal-Poor Stars

Metal-poor stars provide information on the characteristics and chemical evolution of the halo population of the Galaxy, the first epoch of star formation and Galaxy formation (not just locally but with relevance to high-redshift objects), and big bang nucleosynthesis. This review looks at recent developments in this subject.

Europium Isotopic Abundances in Very Metal-poor Stars

Europium isotopic abundance fractions are reported for the very metal-poor, neutron-capture-rich giant stars CS 22892-052, HD 115444, and BD +17◦3248. The abundance fractions, derived from analysis of several strong Eu II lines appearing in high-resolution spectra of these stars, are in excellent agreement with each other and with their values in the Solar System: fr(Eu)≃ fr(Eu) ≃ 0.5. Detailed...

Oxygen Abundances in Metal-poor Stars

We present oxygen abundances derived from both the permitted and forbidden oxygen lines for 55 subgiants and giants with [Fe/H] values between −2.7 and solar with the goal of understanding the discrepancy in the derived abundances. A first attempt, using Teff values from photometric calibrations and surface gravities from luminosities, obtained agreement between the indicators for turn-off star...

Beryllium abundances in metal - poor stars ⋆

We have determined beryllium abundances for 25 metal-poor stars based on the high resolution and high signal-to-noise ratio spectra from the VLT/UVES database. Our results confirm that Be abundances increase with Fe, supporting the global enrichment of Be in the Galaxy. Oxygen abundances based on [O i] forbidden line implies a linear relation with a slope close to one for the Be vs. O trend, wh...

Sulphur abundances in metal - poor stars ⋆

We investigate the debated “sulphur discrepancy” found among metal-poor stars of the Galactic halo with [Fe/H]<−2. This discrepancy stems in part from the use of two different sets of sulphur lines, the very weak triplet at 8694 95 Å and the stronger triplet lines at 9212 9238 Å. For three representative cases of metal-poor dwarf, turnoff and subgiant stars, we argue that the abundances from th...
